Llandudno

Llandudno is the Atlantic Seaboard's best-kept open secret. Tucked into a steep amphitheatre of mountainside between Camps Bay and Hout Bay, this residential-only cove has no shops, no restaurants, and famously no streetlights — which is exactly why locals love it.

The beach itself is a postcard: white sand framed by enormous granite boulders, with Little Lion's Head rising behind. It's a favourite for sunset picnics and, when the swell lines up, one of Cape Town's best-loved surf spots.

Parking on land is notoriously scarce in summer, which makes arriving by boat the ultimate move. From the water you get the full sweep of the amphitheatre — mansions clinging to the slopes, boulders glowing gold in the late light, and the sun dropping straight into the Atlantic.
